Leeds United finished in 14th place last season, and will be hoping to do better this year. BBC journalist Adam Pope has given his assessment on the Whites’ chances of surviving relegation this season.
Daniel Farke’s side got off to a rocky start last year, but turned things around near the middle of the campaign.
And from January, the club picked up enough points during an incredible streak to save their season. They could have finished even higher than 14th if they did not lose to West ham on the final day.
This summer’s transfer window has seen the club improve on multiple positions.
With the money spent and the players added, there is confidence from the fanbase that the team could finish above 14th place.

Leeds United have had a solid start to the season; they beat Nottingham Forest and have drawn their last two games against Brighton and Brentford.
Those last two results came as a bit of a surprise considering the form of Brighton and Brentford. The Whites are up against Newcastle on Monday night in the Premier League.
Ahead of the game, Adam Pope has said that Leeds do not look like a team that will be relegated this year.
“It is early and all that, but they just don’t look like a side that’s going to be struggling. I think defensively they look really good,” Pope said on the Don’t Go To Bed Just Yet podcast.
“Overall, they just look so impenetrable, largely, don’t they?
“So then, that’s why the defence will make sure that they’re not in bother this year.”
The BBC journalist made this claim ahead of Leeds’ game against Newcastle United.

Adam Pope is right about Leeds
Leeds United did very well to beat the drop last year, they managed to cause many upsets on their way to finishing in 14th place.
And this summer, the 49ers have invested in improving the first team. The Whites have spent on adding real quality to the starting lineup as well as depth on the bench.
Daniel Farke is still in charge of the team, and his tactics were a big part of why Leeds stayed up.
So it is not out of the question for anyone to back the team to survive another Premier League season, seeing how much has been done to elevate the first team.
