A few former Leeds United players are part of the Sheffield United squad this season, and Chris Wilder wants to add one more to the pack in the summer.

Sheffield United finished in the bottom half of the Championship table this season. However, Chris Wilder is determined to build a promotion-winning squad in the upcoming window.

Former Leeds promotion hero Patrick Bamford joined Sheffield United in November and has been an important player for the Blades this season.

Kalvin Phillips and Joe Rothwell joined Sheffield United in the winter window, and Wilder is now eyeing one more former Leeds star to add to the mix in the summer.

Chris Wilder wants Jack Clarke at Sheffield United

According to the Sheffield Star, Wilder has identified former Leeds winger Jack Clarke as one of his top targets in the upcoming transfer window.

He joined Sheffield United in 2024 and, although his first season ended in Premier League relegation, he played a key role in helping the club bounce straight back up this season.

Wilder wants to add more promotion-winning experience to his squad, and Clarke’s performances in the Championship have convinced the Sheffield United boss to try and take him to Bramall Lane.

Clarke scored 14 goals this season to help Ipswich join Coventry in earning automatic promotion to the Premier League this season.

It remains to be seen whether Ipswich Town are ready to sell him to bring in an upgrade ahead of their return to the top flight in the summer window.

The former Leeds winger has proven to be a top player in the Championship. However, he has struggled to replicate that in the Premier League.

Will Wilder re-sign Kalvin Phillips?

Kalvin Phillips has been a disastrous loan signing for Sheffield United, featuring in just three games for the club since joining in the winter window.

He picked up a red card in the Steel City derby and then suffered a knee injury, which kept him from making another appearance for the rest of the season.

Manchester City are prepared to let him go in the summer, and Phillips could agree to reduce his wages to terminate his contract with the Premier League giants.

Chris Wilder apparently likes him despite his struggles and values the Premier League experience he would add to the Sheffield United squad.

However, it is unclear whether the club are prepared to take a gamble on Phillips again in the upcoming summer transfer window.
