Leeds United sprung a huge surprise this week, going to Stamford Bridge to get a point out of Chelsea. Going into the game, the Whites were up against a huge task as new Blues boss Liam Rosenior had won seven of his nine games.

And after 60 minutes in the match, the home side were cruising 2-0 with the game looking as good as finished. But Daniel Farke changed the game with his substitutions, and within the space of 20 minutes the Whites had turned the tie around.

Leeds left the game with a precious point, and what was more impressive was how they did it without Dominic Calvert-Lewin who was injured.

Daniel Farke gives update on Leeds United man

Leeds United have a big FA Cup tie against Birmingham City this weekend. The Whites will be hoping to make it to the next round after beating Derby County in the previous game in the competition. But the Blues will be no pushovers; they have not lost a game in all competitions since January first. It will be an interesting clash to see which team will advance in the FA Cup.

Daniel Farke has already revealed that Anton Stach and Jaka Bijol will not be available this weekend. And in the same press conference on Friday, he gave an update on Dominic Calvert-Lewin. The striker is back in the team, but as to whether he is selected to play will be a different conversation:

“Dominic Calvert-Lewin is back so good news and then we take decisions on who plays the game, no new injuries after the Chelsea game.” Farke said in the press conference.

It is very likely that none of the key members of the squad are risked after weeks of injuries. It is important to keep the legs fresh from now till the end of the season.

Club’s attacking depth is finally showing

In the summer, many fans complained after the team failed to end up with a marquee attacking signing. Leeds brought in Lukas Nmecha, Noah Okafor and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, which saw a lot of concerns from outside Elland Road. But as the season has gone on, the three players have each showed why the 49ers spent on them.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has managed to score 10 goals in the league, and Nmecha has been quietly having a good season just behind him with six goals. After an inconsistent start to the season, Noah Okafor has showed up in recent games, flourishing in a new role. Hopefully these three can keep up the form in the fight for survival.
