Daniel Farke injury update: Leeds trio all available for selection for Leicester City clash

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has confirmed that defenders Joe Rodon and Sam Byram, as well as winger Crysencio Summerville, are all available for selection for the Whites’ trip to table-topping Leicester City on Friday evening.

Farke’s update comes after all three were substituted midway through the second half of Leeds’ 4-1 demolition of West Yorkshire neighbours Huddersfield Town last Saturday.

Whilst it was only centre-back Rodon whose early removal from the field appeared to be a precaution due to injury, there was concern amongst the Elland Road faithful surrounding Summerville and Byram’s fitness.

Asked by the media to provide an update on the status of the trio in his pre-match press conference this afternoon, Farke was quick to alleviate the fears of Leeds fans by deeming them available for Friday’s clash at the King Power Stadium.

“There were a few players with concerns in the last game, Joe Rodon, Sam Byram and Cree Summerville, yes I substituted all three of them.

“We took care of them and they were able to train today. If there’s no reaction they’re all available.”

News of the trio’s eligibility to play will come as a significant boost to Farke and his side as their most difficult fixture of the season so far approaches.

With the Whites’ currently sitting third in the Championship table – 9 points off second-placed Ipswich Town and 14 points off Enzo Maresca’s league-leading Foxes – a victory on Friday would provide a significant boost to Leeds’ automatic promotion hopes.

And, with Summerville in particular in red-hot form after scoring four and assisting two in his last three matches, Leeds fans will be hoping another for another inspired performance from the Dutchman to help their side to what could prove to be a vital three points.
