Farke delighted with Middlesbrough result

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke was pleased that Leeds were able to keep their winning streak after a hard fought 3-2 win over Middlesbrough.

A fast paced five-goal first half was enough for Leeds to walk away with all three points in their encounter with Middlesbrough. Goals from Joel Piroe, Dan James and Crysencio Summerville were just enough to see off Middlesbrough despite a brace from Emmanuel Lath.

Farke says the game was exciting for the fans but he was rather pleased with the goalless second half as a coach:

“Expected a tough game. Could not be happier. Third game in eight days against a really good side. They had a fantastic spell in the season. I judge them as a to-six competitor. Really good side.”

“Important you are fully committed against the ball otherwise you are punished. We showed this in the first half. Created so many good situations and moments. Goals were a sign of our will, our greed. Great finish and block. Next block win the ball back and Byram with a big cross. James not a natural-born header, but fully committed to win this duel.

Desperate to win this game. Top class in the first half. Only problem over-driven in possession. Too many losses of the ball. Give moments away. High-intensity game. Transition, transition, transition.”

“First goal we opened up the inner line. Second goal not fully switched on to defend the set-piece. Wild game first half. Every football fan must have enjoyed this game. I am a football fan too, loved it, but as a manager I loved the second half as we calmed it down. Kept everything under control.

Repaired the situation with a monster block from Rodon. Good game management in the second half.”

The Whites are in action next weekend as they are away to Blackburn Rovers.
