Farke disappointed with Rotherham result

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke says he was not pleased with the result tonight as Leeds were held to a 1-1 draw away from home.

The Whites took the lead just after four minutes when Rutter and Summerville combined brilliantly. The Dutch forward scored a curler from just inside the box for his 7th league goal this season.

The Millers responded just before halftime as Hakeem Odofin found the back of the net. The result sees Leeds gain just one point on the league leaders ahead of tomorrow’s fixture. Daniel Farke was not pleased:

“First emotion is a disappointment because we played with dominance. Enough to win all three points. Performance fantastic in the first half. Have to bury the game. Chances to bury the game. Fist half. Summerville one vs one. Kamara after great counter. James great chance. Piroe header after 30 seconds.

Took a chance at the halfway line, gave the ball away and they scored their only chance. Normally only one winner from the chances each team created. We enjoyed our dominance too much. Lacked the final three per cent to bury this game.”

The German coach also blamed Leeds for their poor second half for failing to seal the win:

“Second half credit to Rotherham. Good side. They were very organised. We struggled for 20/25 minutes to create enough chances. Made subs. Formation. Created more than enough to win the game Struijk needs to score with the header. Need a penalty for James. Have to accept Bamford was offside.

When there is a day you cannot win, you make sure you don’t lose it. Although we are disappointed because we are so close, it’s a draw on the road in this league. Never a bad result. Yes, allow them to be disappointed, but it’s a point on the road and we stay unbeaten.”
