Daniel Farke is not the first manager in the history of the sport to back players when things are not going well. The Leeds United boss is currently managing a tough string of results.
His side have lost just one game this season, but five draws in the other seven games poses a bit of a problem.
Leeds were unable to leave the Stadium of Light with all three points, and with the momentum of that game, they could have easily lost. James Trafford was excellent on the night and was a big part of why they left with a point.
The Whites sit just outside the top four with 11 points, which many would coysider a great start to the season.
But there remains some concerns behind the scenes at Elland Road in the last couple of months.

Contracts have been the biggest talking points since the last transfer window close. Daniel Farke’s future has been heavily been discussed, with report suggesting that he might land a new deal before the season ends.
In 2027, two first team players are out of contract at Elland Road; Lukas Nmecha and Ilia Gruev.
Nmecha played a big part as Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s backup last year and early this season, talks about his future emerged. Leeds were believed to be hesitat on offering him a new deal.
Just before facing Sunderland this weekend, Farke praised the striker for his role in the team: “For a back up striker, I think Lukas Nmecha has scored seven goals. Bayern Munich would be happy if a back up for Harry Kane scored seven goals. I think it’s a really good record.”
But the reality on the ground remains different, and with the January window around the corner, anything could happen. Nmecha has made just two starts this season, both in the EFL Cup, with only substitute appearances in the league.
For all Farke’s praise, the forward is not crucial enough to the team to play significant minutes.

Will Lukas Nmecha leave in January?
When Januar arrives, Lukas Nmecha will be free to discuss pre-contracts with foreign players. He could join another club on a free transfer as a result of that.
The last update from Leeds sources was that no decision had been made on his future. Reports from German have indicated that Bundesliga clubs are keen on a move for the forward.
FC Koln have show interest ahead of the January window.
So far, there is yet to be concrete offer and the German will remain a Leeds player for the near future. But the next two months will be key for both the club and the players.
