Daniel James loan deal in the balance as Fulham target new January addition

According to 90min, Fulham could cancel Daniel James’ loan deal to fund moves in January.

The report claims that the Cottagers are targeting Arsenal right-back Cedric and Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure. Fulham are only willing to pay half of Doucoure’s £100,000-a-week wage, thus are pushing for a loan move.

This would most likely mean James would be sent back to Leeds United. According to YEP, if that scenario happens, the Welsh forward will not stay for the rest of the season. Fulham manager Marco Silva declined to comment on James’ status earlier this week:

“James is still adapting to our football club, a completely different style of play.

“Until now we didn’t speak about this possibility [of an early return to Leeds], we signed him on loan to stay for the season with us.

“Of course now, from yesterday, we’ve opened the market, and of course many things can happen but no news about it.”

Fulham currently sit in 7th place in the Premier League after picking up 8 wins in their first 18 games this season.
