Gabby Agbonlahor does not think Daniel Farke will be sacked after positive start to the season

It took two seasons for Leeds United boss Daniel Farke to guide the club back to the top flight. And he did it the hard way; after losing Archie Gray and Crysencio Summerville among other key players, Farke still managed to win automatic promotion.

Soon after the Whites lifted the Championship, some reports emerged that the German coach could be sacked before the Premier League season kicked off. But those rumours were squashed when Leeds chairman Paraag Marathe came out to publicly back Daniel Farke.

And so far into the new season, it looks like the club made the right choice.

Leeds are set to face Burnley this Saturday in what is already an early season relegation clash. talkSport pundit Gabby Agbonlahor was discussing clubs who could be involved in the relegation scrap this season. He spoke about West Ham, Wolves and Brentford’s poor start to the season. When Agbonlahor did discuss Leeds, he rubbished any talk that Daniel Farke could be under pressure in the coming weeks.

“No, I don’t,“ the former Aston Villa said on Friday’s show.

“No. I feel like, how tight it’s going to be down there… West Ham are still going to be down there.

“Wolves are still down there. Nottingham Forest could still be down there, Brentford, seven points.

“I just think what he’s doing there with Leeds, they look competitive every single game.

“Even the Spurs game they lost, was it 2-1? They looked competitive in that game, they could’ve got an equaliser as well.

“So I don’t think Daniel Farke is under any pressure.“

Leeds United are doing fine this season

Eight points from seven games may not seem as much, but some teams in the Premier League are yet to reach five points in total. Leeds are one of the only clubs this season to have gotten results against Everton, Newcastle and Bournemouth. The Whites could have beaten the Cherries if the players could have found the back of the net after the team created multiple chances. At this point of the season, Daniel Farke is definitely safe.
