Leeds United have surprised everyone with how they have started the new season.  Unbeaten in the league after five games is a much better start than most teams.

The Whites have played some really great football, ad have managed some incredible results so far, including a 4-1 win over Newcastle at Elland Road.

A lot of the new signings at Leeds have gotten off to a great start. James Trafford has performed well i his first few games ad defensive duo Nico Elvedi and Tarik Muharemovic have formed a solid partnership.

The old guard have also continued their strong form from last year.

Ethan Ampadu has been impressive, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin has four goals in seven games to start the year.

The Leeds United striker earned a callup to Thomas Tuchel’s team for this iternational break.

Calvert-Lewi has played himself into contetion for a starting role with the Three Lions since his arrival at Elland Road. He was eve considered for the World Cup, but did not make the final squad.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Gabby Agbonlahor has said that Calvert-Lewi is not good enough to be in the England squad.

“[Delap’s] the one that I’d say his age, the pathway is there for him.

“I don’t think Calvert-Lewin is the answer. I don’t think he should be anywhere near the England squad. He’s not good enough for the level we want to play at.”

Very unfair assessment of the Leeds star

Calvert-Lewin has worked very hard to build himself back up since leaving Everton.

His last few years with the Toffees were filled with injuries, and he was clearly out of form. When he did decide to join Leeds United, not many clubs wanted to take any risk on him.

His age and injury history scared many clubs away, but the 49ers and Daniel Farke took the risk.

It has paid off so well; 15 goals last season were enough to earn him a way back into the national team under Thomas Tuchel. But he has yet to get a fair chance in the team.

Calvert-Lewin has featured in just two out of the three games he was available for with England and played just 47 minutes.

He really has not got a chance to show Tuchel what he can do, so this take from Gabby Agbonlahor is very unfair to the player.
