Just hours before the end of June, and Leeds United have still not had confirmation on some players’ future. Ethan Ampadu was the first player this summer to sign a new deal at the club.

Leeds chairman Paraag Marathe revealed that it was a decision both parties did not hesitate to agree to.

The Whites have two first team players out of contract at the end of the week. Karl Darlow and Sam Byram will have their deals expiring, but they have offers on the table.

Alex Cairns has verbally agreed to a new contract at Elland Road.

When it comes to Darlow, it has gone quiet on that front; he has still been linked with a move to Manchester United. Adam Pope also said last week that he would be surprised if Byram decides to stay.

Leeds United learn the latest about England star

Leeds United could have a goalkeeping problem this summer.

Lucas Perri is currently the only first team goalkeeper under contract at Elland Road. Alex Cairns has agreed to a new deal, but has yet to put pen to paper on a new contract officially.

Karl Darlow is still a question mark, which could dictate the club’s summer plans.

James Trafford made it clear during the season that he may consider a move away from Manchester City in this window. His lack of playing time this past season is the reason behind his choice.

Per reports, there are clubs interested like Newcastle. Leeds have also been linked, but there is now an update on the England star’s future.

The YEP have stated that the City goalkeeper is one the club have admired, and would like to sign. But as things stand, there is nothing concrete and they have not made a move to sign him.

Club must bring in a new goalkeeper this summer

Depending on how things go, it is likely the Whites will be in for a new goalkeeper.

Karl Darlow has not signed a new contract, and until he officially does, there is a spot to fill in the Leeds first team squad. And with the club’s stance on Lucas Perri, things are not clear ahead of next season.

Perri’s first season was not the best; he was promising at the start, but he was impressive in the FA Cup.

Daniel Farke is clearly not a big fan of the Brazilian, so Leeds signing a new first option must be the priority for this summer window.
