Keith Andrews will bring his Brentford side to Elland Road to take on Leeds United on Saturday in a big game that could have major ramifications on the Premier League table.
Leeds have just one point from their last three games, but are still 15th in the table, three points clear of the relegation zone. They are keen to get a home under their belt to ease some of the pressure.
Brentford are chasing European football and are seventh in the Premier League table. However, they squandered a two-goal lead to only draw 2-2 at home against Wolves on Monday night.
Andrews was disappointed with the result and had some honest words for his team ahead of their visit to Elland Road to take on Leeds a few days later.
Keith Andrews warns his players ahead of the Leeds United clash
The Brentford manager feels that it’s nice that his team are being compared with Chelsea at this stage of the season. It shows their development.
However, he conceded that the second-half performance against Wolves on Monday night was really concerning, ahead of the trip to Elland Road on Saturday.
He warned that if they keep performing as they did in the second half against Wolves, Brentford could be in for a disappointing end to the season.
Andrews told Sky Sports: “I think when you’re talking about us in the same breath as Chelsea, that’s obviously pretty good considering there’s only eight games left of the season.
“But the reality is we could’ve produced more tonight, and I think we need to be honest with that and look at ourselves and the second half performance and why we produced that.”
He continued: “I think it’s really simple.
“If we produce a second-half performance again, we will struggle; if we produce first-half performances of that level, then we will have a good end to the season.”
Leeds need a win on Saturday
Leeds have managed to remain three points clear of the relegation zone despite earning just one point from their last three Premier League games.
However, they cannot bank on teams below them to continue to flounder and need a win soon to calm some fraying nerves at Elland Road.
