This has not been a great week for former Leeds United managers at the FIFA World Cup. Marcelo Bielsa and Uruguay exited the tournament after failing to win their last game.
They managed to finish third in a group with Spain, Cape Verde and Saudi Arabia.
It was completely unexpected for a country with great heritage at the World Cup. After the game, Bielsa lashed out in the post-match interview and went on to apologize for failing in the post-match press conference.
One former Leeds boss who will be pleased with the World Cup so far is Jesse Marsch.
He managed to guide Canada into the Round of 32 after winning four points in Group B.

On Sunday, the Canadian team managed to beat South Africa and make it to the Round of 16. It took a late goal in stoppage time to secure a win for the co-hosts of the tournament.
Jesse Marsch was estatic on the sidelines and could not contain his emotions. He ended up kissing the Canadian badge on his tracksuit, which seems to have drawn outrage from the media.
Jason Cundy blasted the 52-year old for his antics, saying he should not have done that because he is an American.
“Jesse Marsch – kissing the Canadian badge.” Cundy said on talkSPORT.
“He is an American.
“I can’t imagine Tuchel kissing the England badge.
“Congratulations, well done, but I don’t know what I see after.
“He is an American in America.”

Media have treated Jesse Marsch unfairly at this World Cup
From the first game of this tournament, Jesse Marsch has been criticized.
When Canada won, he got criticism, when they drew he was lambasted and in their only defeat so far, he was called out. It seems like the media have failed to move on from his time in England.
Yes, he was not the best of hires Leeds have had in a long time, but he has done well for himself since.
Guiding Canada to the Round of 16 at the FIFA World Cup is a huge achievement in itself.
Instead of the focus to be on how he has guided this team to the next stage of the competition, he is still being criticised. Marsch has had a good campaign and deserves to be respected for the job he has done.
