Leeds United star Helder Costa was the subject of interest from Sheffield United, but decided against a move to Bramall Lane, according to The Athletic.
Leeds winger Costa was another player Sheffield United considered signing as they look to earn their way back to the Premier League, but the Portuguese winger chose instead to go to sunny Spain rather than dreary Sheffield.
With the signing of Dan James from Manchester United, the chances of Costa making any more inroads into the Leeds starting line-up were diminished even further after the winger has made just one substitute appearance in the Premier League so far this season.
The Portuguese winger did play a key role in United’s promotion from the Championship, but failed to make an impression in Leeds’ maiden season back in the top flight.
