Leeds United climbed to fourth in the Premier League standings after an emphatic 4-1 victory over Newcastle United at Elland Road on Monday night.
Daniel Farke’s men produced one of their best performances in recent memory, putting Newcastle to the sword with a display that exceeded plenty of expectations.
The hosts effectively settled the contest before half-time, finding the net three times in a superb opening 45 minutes. Noah Okafor added a fourth shortly before the hour mark, although Farke was left frustrated by the late Newcastle goal that prevented Leeds from keeping a clean sheet.
Kasper Schmeichel is bullish about where Leeds are as a club and made a bold claim in the studio after the game that should absolutely delight the Whites supporters.

The former Leeds man drops huge claim
Kasper Schmeichel has insisted that Leeds are no longer a yo-yo club and are now part of the established Premier League order with a terrific squad at their disposal.
He stressed that Leeds must realise their potential when everyone is united behind the scenes, and they now need to double down to build on this.
The former goalkeeper has backed the Whites to qualify for Europe if they continue to stay together and on course this season.
Schmeichel said on Premier League Productions: “We talked about it at the top of the show, where they are at the moment.
“They are not that yo-yo club that they were a couple of years back.
“They are now an established Premier League club with strength in depth to go and push on.
“I hope they now understand what that club can do when they are united because if they can get that as a permanent thing, the potential of the club is huge.
“It is an incredible place to play when you are on top, and they are on top, and now it’s about doubling down.
“For me now, I hope they see the potential to push for a European place.”

Europe is no longer a pipe dream for Leeds
With only four matches played, there is still a long way to go before the Premier League table tells us anything meaningful. Even so, Leeds have made an excellent start and currently occupy third place.
Daniel Farke has quickly dismissed suggestions that European qualification should be the target this season. However, after the way his team have performed in the opening weeks, it is becoming harder to completely rule out the possibility.
The squad will inevitably face setbacks through injuries and suspensions, but Leeds are unlikely to have a congested fixture list for most of the campaign. That should give Farke’s players plenty of time to recover and help them maintain their defensive consistency.
It may be early, but Leeds have every reason to start dreaming about a place in Europe.
