Leeds United boss praises Summerville performance against Norwich

Leeds United coach Daniel Farke has praised Crysencio Summerville for his performance against Norwich, saying it was a result of the hard work the youngster has put in this season.

The German coach convinced the Dutch winger to stay at the club after interest from clubs like Aston Villa and Borussia Dortmund. His decision to stay at Elland Road has paid off this season – the 21-year old has four goals and 2 assists in the league this season.

Summerville was the catalyst for this afternoons result away to Norwich. He scored a brace as Leeds came from 2-0 down to win the game 3-2. After the game, Farke says the player’s performance is a direct result from his work on the training ground this season:

“How we work is a secret for the training ground. I don’t talk about meetings. Crysencio is a baller. When you see a guy touching the ball like he does it’s heart-warming. We want him to improve his effectiveness. Need goals and assists and end products. The next step in his career. Delivers like this, he is on a good path.”

The Leeds boss has been a big fan of the forward since he was appointed this summer. Farke was key in convincing Summerville to stay. In September, the German coach praised the youngster for his attitude when he was benched earlier this season:

“This is exactly what we need, to think about the side [and] don’t be annoyed when you’re sometimes not in the starting line-up. It’s more like when you’re on the pitch, give everything for this group.

“His reaction, not just in possession, because he’s an outstanding creative player, we know this, but also how hard he worked for the team. This is exactly what we need and many compliments to him.”
