Leeds United were disappointed this past weekend, when they lost to Chelsea in the FA Cup final. Daniel Farke’s side had their cup run halted at Wembley.
It was a game of few chances as Chelsea took the lead early in the first half. The Blues exploited Leeds’ high press, and Enzo Fernandez headed home from a cross after Pascal Struijk lost a key challenge. Farke made changes at half-time to try and get back into the game, but it was too late. Calum McFarlane and his men held on for the second half to book a place in the final.
Burnley set to discuss Scott Parker’s future
Leeds are in action this week, as they face Burnley at Elland Road. The match presents a huge chance for the Whites to officially confirm their survival in the Premier League.
Ahead of the game, Ben Jacobs has provided an update on Scott Parker’s future at Burnley in a report with Alex Crook.
”Scott Parker’s future at Burnley being discussed. No final decision yet but a mutual parting of ways is possible.” Jacobs posted on his Twitter/X.
”Former Burnley assistant and Wales boss Craig Bellamy one name appreciated if a change is made.”
”Meanwhile, Steven Gerrard is keen to return to the management and open to a role in the Championship. No ties to Al-Ettifaq now, having stayed on as a consultant after leaving as manager, and no historical tax implications if Gerrard does take a new role in the UK.”

This could benefit Leeds ahead of Elland Road clash
The week before the FA Cup final saw Chelsea lose heavily to Brighton, with Liam Rosenior being sacked as a result. It seems to be happening again, with Burnley this time. The Clarets were relegated after losing to Manchester City last week, and with this news, it looks like things are not going well at Turf Moor.
The club have been relegate, and with news that Scott Parker could leave, it could be a huge distraction to the players. Most of them would already be planning for the summer, and potentially playing in the Championship. This could play into Leeds United’s hands, if they can capitalize this time around. Farke’s men are playing good football and will be keen to bounce back from their FA Cup disappointment in front of the Elland Road crowd.
