Fresh off a victory that now sees them eight points clear of the relegation zone, Leeds United are once again in action midweek. Things have turned around over the past week when it comes to the bottom of the table.

Daniel Farke’s men looked in danger when the league resumed after the international break. West Ham and Forest picking up points brought some anxiety among the fanbase, but the win at Old Trafford calmed the nerves. The Whites rode on this momentum going into last Saturday’s game against Wolves. The team delivered with a huge 3-0 win.

This could prove a pivotal week for the club, as they could potential take a huge step towards confirming their safety and book a place in the FA Cup final. Farke’s men face Bournemouth on Wednesday, and will face Chelsea at Wembley on the weekend.

Daniel Farke delivers Leeds United update ahead of FA Cup clash

Ahead of the FA Cup clash, there were some injury doubts for the Whites. And now Daniel Farke has said that Anton Stach is a huge doubt heading into the weekend. He is already confirmed to be a doubt for the game against Bournemouth.

“Difficult to say; we have to decide from day to day. I am pushing for him to come back to training as soon as possible.

“Normally, with this injury, he would be available in May but right now we are heading to end of April.

“It’s more or less right now, a question of days or not weeks.

“I don’t want to put additional pressure on him or the medical department.”

Team selection this week will be key

The Whites have two very important games in the space of a week, and will need to prepare for that. There are already some injury concerns in the squad, and Daniel Farke will be wary of that. Two games in the space of just a few days will bring fatigue and a few knocks. But what is most important is which players feature this week. Farke has had a few trusted players who have shone in the FA Cup games, and it will be very interesting to see if they do play against Bournemouth this week. It will be crucial to keep the legs fresh heading into a crucial part of the season.
