Leeds star could walk if club fail to stay up this season

According to a report from Football Insider, Leeds forward Rodrigo Moreno will leave the club if they are relegated.

Rodrigo is Leeds’ top scorer this season with 13 goals in all competitions. This has been his best season at the club since joining in 2020. He went from being an inconsistent starter to one of the key players in the team recently.

However, a report from Football Insider claims that Leeds have told Rodrigo to take a pay cut if he wants to renew his contract. Due to this, the player and his representatives have put contract talks on hold till the end of the season. The Spaniard reportedly earns around £100,000-a-week, making him one of the club’s highest earners.

The 32-year old has just over 12 months remaining on his contract, which would mean the club will have to sell him before it expires.

The Whites are 14th in the Premier League, just two points above safety. They face Arsenal on Saturday before home games against relegation rivals Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace.
