Leeds United took a giant step towards securing Premier League safety with a comfortable 3-0 win over Wolves at Elland Road earlier today.

The win over Manchester United last week meant that Leeds were in a great position to more or less ensure that they secure Premier League football for one more season.

James Justin opened the scoring in the 18th minute with a brilliant bicycle kick, and Noah Okafor doubled the lead two minutes later when he produced a sumptuous finish from a cross from Brenden Aaronson.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin converted a penalty in injury time to add more sheen to the scoreline.

However, Leeds fans were left worried at the sight of a key player leaving the pitch gingerly during the game ahead of some key fixtures in the coming weeks.

Noah Okafor left the pitch gingerly against Wolves

After his brace against Manchester United, Noah Okafor scored again against Wolves to show his sublime form at this crucial stage of the season.

Daniel Farke replaced him with Wilfried Gnonto halfway through the second half. However, it was the way the winger left the pitch that should worry Leeds fans.

He walked off the pitch gingerly while accepting the applause of the Elland Road faithful after another brilliant performance in a Leeds shirt.

The supporters will hope that it is not serious and the winger will remain available for the rest of the season, especially the FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea.

Okafor has had his injury problems this season, and Leeds would not want to lose him at this stage of the season as they motor in the final weeks of the campaign.

Leeds can afford to rest him

With Premier League safety seemingly secure, Leeds and their fans can afford to enjoy the rest of the season with still something to play for.

It also gives Farke the option to rotate and rest key players in the league if he decides to go all out for the FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea.

Leeds are back in action in midweek, travelling to Bournemouth for a Premier League clash on Wednesday night, before their Wembley trip the following Sunday.

If Noah Okafor needs to be rested against Bournemouth in order to have him fit and firing against Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final.
