Depending on how the rest of the season goes, Leeds United will have a lot of questions to answer this summer. And most of them will have to do with the future of some players.

During last summer’s window, recruitment was geared towards improving the team enough for them to compete in the Premier League. 10 new signings arrived at Elland Road to the first team, which meant decisions had to be made on other players.

Daniel Farke spoke with Patrick Bamford over his future, with the striker opting to terminate his contract before the season. Decisions were also made on Largie Ramazani, Joe Gelhardt and Mateo Joseph, who all went out on loan. And in January, Jack Harrison also left the club on a temporary deal.

Out of all these loan exits, most of them were expected – Gelhardt wanted out of the club for playing time and Mateo Joseph did not report for pre-season to force a move. Jack Harrison was also expected to leave before Fiorentina even arrived with an offer. The one that came as a shock was Largie Ramazani; the Belgian was missing from the matchday squad in the second week game against Arsenal. Daniel Farke then confirmed that he was on his way out on loan.

La Liga 15 4 1
Copa del Rey 4 0 1
TOTAL 19 4 2

Leeds United loaned the Belgian out to Valencia in Spain, where he has had a mixed season. He started off well, with an assist on his first appearance, but a mix of injury problems and loss of form saw him sit on the bench for a few months. He has picked up a head of steam over the last month, scoring three goals in three games.

However, a move to Spain this summer seems to be very unlikely. According to local media El Desmarque, Ramazani is a player Valencia would like to sign, but the factors are not conducive. Leeds seem to have no plans of selling the Belgian, and his wages and price tag might be a stumbling block. So the La Liga club could be forced out of a move for him.

What do Leeds do with Ramazani?

Largie Ramazani is still a hugely talented player; he has that unique ability of pulling things out of a hat. It was unfortunate his first season was marred by fitness problems and the form of other players on the team. He ended the latter part of the promotion campaign quite well, which raised hopes for him to star in the Premier League. But for some reason, Daniel Farke is not a big fan, and he gave the green light for him to go out on loan.

If Ramazani does finish this season on a high, he will attract suitors just like in the last summer window. He is young and still has the talent to prove; if Farke is still not a fan, Leeds can cash in on him. The other option is keeping him around the first team to give him another chance to prove himself.
