Leeds United have officially completed the signing of Bosnian defender Tarik Muharemovic. The 23-year old arrives from Italian side Sassuolo.

He becomes the second signing of the summer, after Harry Wilson.

Muharemovic was a priority especially after Leeds lost Pascal Struijk to Brighton. The Whites needed a replacement good enough to fit in the backline ahead of next season.

The Bosnian follows the footsteps of Jaka Bijol, who was also a standout in Serie A before joining.

Fans will be pleased with the signings so far; Wilson brings quality and numbers in attack, while Muharemovic is an exciting signing for the defence.

Leeds United set their sights on French defender after Muharemovic signing

It looks like Leeds United are not done in their pursuit of improving the first team squad.

Per Football Insider, Udinese defender Oumar Solet is next on their list. The 26-year old had a decent season last year, and has been linked with a move to Newcastle United.

It is believed that Solet will have a price tag around £20 million this summer.

Graham Smyth reported that the Whites will be looking to let one defender leave this summer. It is likely to be either one of Max Wober or Sebastiaan Bornauw in the coming months.

This will create enough space in the team to add another quality defender.

Whites need to focus on other important areas now

The pursuit of defensive reinforcements is the right course to take, but there are other pressing issues in the squad.

Leeds still have two goalkeepers at the start of pre-season, with talks that one of them could be leaving in the coming days. So far, no breakthrough has been made to bring in a new keeper since losing Karl Darlow on a free transfer.

The midfield also needs some quality; the deal for Shea Charles has stalled over the last week.

Graham Smyth has pointed out that the Southampton midfielder remains a priority target, but there is yet to be an agreement. The 49ers need to focus their attention there and get the deal done quickly.

Outside Harry Wilson, the lack of focus on attacking areas also seems to be of concern.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin needs help in that attack, and Lukas Nmecha and Noah Okafor have been the only sparks. Leeds cannot go into another season with Dan James and Wilfried Gnonto as options.
