It was widely known at the start of the transfer window that Leeds United had three main targets. Some time passed before Harry Wilson was unveiled as the first summer signing.
Leeds had been after Wilson since last year, and the club have now landed their man.
Southampton star Shea Charles is also another player the 49ers are keen on signing. It is an open secret, with Graham Smyth even saying that the midfielder remains a priority target.
Charles has began pre-season with the Saints, as a deal is yet to be reached with the Championship side.
The Whites would like to wrap up a deal before they depart to the US for their pre-season fixtures.
Julian Brandt deal close as father meets Leeds United
Former Borussia Dortmund man Julian Brandt was a name widely reported in the news.
The attacking midfielder signed off in style, choosing to leave the German club as a free agent. Most club sources acknowledged that it would take something incredible for Leeds to convince him to join the club.
For most of the summer, it had gone quiet on that front as it was believed Brandt was weighing his options.
According to Beren Cross of The Athletic, the father of Julian Brandt held a meeting with Leeds at Thorp Arch on Thursday. Cross adds that it does not mean anything has been confirmed, but the two parties engaged in talks.
Graham Smyth has also reported that La Liga side Real Betis did not pursue a deal after Brandt’s father was also spotted there. He does mention that Leeds are in the conversation to sign the 30-year old.

49ers are addressing last season’s problems
Leeds United were not among the best attacking units in the top flight last season.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin shouldered most of the goal scoring burden, with Noah Okafor also delivering when needed. The main issue was the team’s inability to create chances.
Finishing chances is also a problem that needs to be solved; but the creativity is being addressed.
Leeds have already added Harry Wilson, who gives a great attacking threat out wide. Brandt can play behind the striker or as an advanced midfielder, which will make him a great fit in Farke’s new system.
With two players of this quality pulling the strings, the Whites will definitely improve in attacking areas next season.
