Leeds United wrapped up their US tour with a game against Liverpool in Chicago. Daniel Farke’s men held a training camp while playing friendlies in North America.
Their first match of the summer ended in a defeat to Wrexham.
Leeds then bounced back in the next game, beating Sunderland by a single goal. The club looked to be on their way to a defeat in their final game against Liverpool, going two goals down in the first half.
Daniel Farke’s team talk and changes at half time turned the game on it’s head.
Brenden Aaronson and Dominic Calvert-Lewin were among the four players that came on after half time. Calvert-Lewin scored a brace, and Aaronson started the comeback with a goal after coming on.
Leeds United star make honest injury admission
Unfortunately for Leeds United, they suffered an injury during the game.
Gabriel Gudmundsson went down after 30 minutes and could not continue the game. It was the second time that the defender had gone down injured, having been taken out earlier in the first half by an opponent.
It has been days after the game and there has been no definitive update on Gudmundsson.
The defender spoke to Aftonbladet on Monday, on his current injury.
“It’s disappointing. It’s It was a little feeling, so we’ll see. Yes [back of the thigh], it felt like it,”
Gudmundsson also refused to confirm if the injury was serious or just a cramp during the game.
“No, the other one [thigh]. I don’t want to go into that; I don’t have an answer right now. We’ll see,”
The defender also added that he will undergo tests to discover the extent of the injury.
“We’ll see what the results are,”

The 49ers need depth at left back
Gabriel Gudmundsson was a key player in this Leeds side last season.
He brought a lot of stability and balance to the team down the left flank. Gudmundsson was reliable in his role during the season, but at the end of the campaign he picked up an injury.
Even though it did not directly affect the team, it exposed the lack of depth in that position.
This summer is the perfect opportunity for the team to invest in a backup in the position. Either that or the club can look at Jayden Lienou, who has been really good in pre-season.
