This Leeds United project is one with a view towards the future. The 49ers are keen to make the club a regular in the Premier League.
Coming up from the Championship in just two seasons was key for the club.
The ownership hiring Daniel Farke was one of the best decisions they made since they were relegated. Leeds also backed the team on the pitch, signing the players that pushed them to promotion.
Many expected the Whites to be like other promoted teams and shop in the Championship, or pluck players from lower table sides.
But the recruitment at Leeds targeted quality players from across Europe.
They signed Anton Stach, Jaka Bijol, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor among other names. And the key was the ownership getting these players to buy into the project.
Leeds United in the race for Champions League star
And going into this summer, Leeds United are looking to improve the team ahead of their second season.
Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Brandt will be leaving the German club when his contract expires at the end of the month. The Whites are keen on adding him to their squad for next season.
After getting the likes of Stach, Bijol and Calvert-Lewin on board, while in pole position to sign Harry Wilson, Leeds are set for a big summer.
Fans will be happy to hear that Brandt is a real target. Adam Pope confirmed that the 30-year old is someone the club are actively pursuing.
“Leeds are still in the hunt for Brandt.” he said on BBC Sport.
“At 30, he has got bags of experience. He went almost all the way in the Champions League and should have won more in his career.
“They still want him, but they will be under pressure from elsewhere to try and land him.”

49ers showing ambition ahead of next season
Daniel Farke wanted the ownership to be on the same page as him heading into the future.
The Leeds boss wants to stay at Elland Road long-term and has asked the 49ers to show ambition. This refers to the transfer market and securing targets to improve the team.
Harry Wilson’s deal close to being sealed shows how much the owners have taken Farke’s words on board.
Landing another quality player like Julian Brandt would be a statement. Getting a player with serious experience, and someone who has regularly featured in the Champions League would be a huge coup by the club.
