Leeds United handed major transfer boost in pursuit of Barcelona attacker

Leeds United fans complained about their attacking options the whole of last season. The team was very light on options before they got promoted.

In their last season in the Championship, the club boasted of a serious attack.

Leeds’ front four of Solomon, James, Piroe and Aaronson took the league by storm. The club ended up scoring over 90 goals that year, in what was an impressive coaching feat by Daniel Farke.

The summer window was quite a disappointment as Solomon went back to his parent club.

The Whites also decided to ship out the likes of Largie Ramazani and Mateo Joseph, who played their part as squad players in the promotion campaign.

Leeds now have a glaring problem in wide areas as seen this past season.

Leeds United could land Barcelona attacker this summer

Noah Okafor was a bright spot for Leeds United last season despite his slow start.

It took him a while to get used to English football, but guidance from Daniel Farke eventually did the trick. The Swiss international ended the season on a high note, scoring four goals in four games to end his campaign.

The 49ers have now been linked with another attacker as they prepare for next season.

Barcelona star Roony Bardghji has reportedly been on Leeds’ radar since last year. And Mundo Deportivo are now reporting that the situation surrounding him in Spain has changed.

The La Liga holders are shipping out some players, including Bardghji.

The report believes that the young winger is ‘expected to leave’ the club in the coming months. But it also adds that there are no concrete offers for him, which leaves a loan deal as the best possible way out.

Whites desperately need quality in attack

Outside a few players, last season was a disaster for the Leeds United attack.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Lukas Nmecha and Noah Okafor carried most of the goalscoring burden for the team during the season.

And in wide areas, Dan James and Wilfried Gnonto were not of any real help. James was battling injuries and fitness problems throughout the campaign. Gnonto was out of favour under Farke.

Bardghji might be a bit difficult to secure on loan, but Leeds should push for the deal.

He wants to play first team football and was decent despite being a backup last season. It would be a low risk deal for the Whites with a high upside.
