Leeds United continued their strong pre-season with a 2-0 win over RB Leipzig at Elland Road on Saturday, giving Daniel Farke another encouraging result ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
The Whites have also made a statement in the transfer market. Harry Wilson arrived on a free transfer before Leeds spent £34m to bring Tarik Muharemovic to Elland Road from Sassuolo.
They then broke their transfer record last week, paying £45m to sign James Trafford from Manchester City. The England international is expected to go straight into the team as Farke’s first-choice goalkeeper when the season begins.
But Leeds still have some work to do between the posts. With Lucas Perri closing in on a loan move to Torino with an option to buy, the club will need to bring in another goalkeeper to provide cover for Trafford.

Leeds United goalkeeping target receives a stupid red card
Leeds are in the market for another goalkeeper who would come in and be happy to be the number 2 to Trafford at Elland Road next season.
Newcastle United goalkeeper Nick Pope has been heavily linked with a move to Leeds, and he was recently dropped from the squad for a friendly game.
Leeds have drawn up a shortlist of goalkeepers, and Paraguay goalkeeper Orlando Gill is one of the players the club are considering signing.
They have submitted an approach for the 26-year-old, but there are now concerns around his temperament after what happened in San Lorenzo’s defeat against Huracan on Sunday.
There are question marks over his involvement in Huracan’s first goal in a 2-0 win, but the way he was sent off after the hour mark should be a red herring for Leeds.
Gill got himself involved in a fracas between the two teams and then headbutted a Huracan player in what was a woefully poor decision with the game in balance.
The referee showed him a red card, effectively ending San Lorenzo’s hopes of mounting a comeback.

Nick Pope is the better option compared to Orlando Gill
Nick Pope may not have been an especially convincing option when Leeds were searching for a new first-choice goalkeeper earlier in the summer. But with James Trafford now in place, the 34-year-old could make plenty of sense as his deputy.
Pope would give Daniel Farke an experienced and reliable option to call upon if needed. Newcastle’s decision to move him down to third choice also weakens their negotiating position, making it difficult for them to demand a substantial fee for his departure.
A move to Leeds could appeal to Pope too. He would have the chance to serve as Trafford’s understudy, rather than spending the season as Newcastle’s third-choice goalkeeper.
Karl Darlow’s last two seasons at Elland Road also highlighted the importance of having an experienced goalkeeper ready to step in when the first-choice option is unavailable or fails to deliver.
Do not need the likes of Gill at Leeds. Go safe and get Pope
