Leeds United continue to find themselves linked with strikers in the months leading up to the summer transfer window.

Whilst the calibre of forward Leeds can attract will depend heavily on what division the Whites find themselves in next season, it is clear that it remains a top priority for the 49ers during the window.

Crystal Palace beat Leeds in January when it came to securing the services of Jorgen Strand Larsen from Wolves, with the Whites ultimately being priced out of a deal for the Norwegian striker.

However, Leeds could soon find themselves in a similar situation, with another striker they have reportedly shown an interest in.

Troy Parrott attracting interest of ‘Europe’s top clubs’ per reports

Parrott, 24, is currently in the midst of enjoying an exceptional season for Dutch outfit AZ Alkmaar, where the Irishman has netted 13 league goals in 21 games so far this season.

Both West Ham and Leeds are amongst the clubs that have been linked with Parrott previously, with his price tag reportedly sitting around the £17million mark.

However, according to a report by Football Insider’s Peter O’Rourke on X, multiple of “Europe’s top clubs” are keeping tabs on the forward, who bagged a brace in the UEFA Conference League on Thursday night to take his total tally for the season to 26.

This surely complicates a potential deal from a Leeds perspective, with the increase in the number of clubs joining the queue for Parrott’s signature making it harder to ensure the Republic of Ireland international ultimately ends up at Elland Road.

Data suggests Troy Parrott was exceptional in his most recent outing

Given Parrott’s most recent performance against Sparta Praha in Europe, it is no wonder that multiple clubs are fighting to secure his services.

  • During the European tie, Parrott scored two goals from an xG of 1.5 during AZ’s 2-1 win
  • The Irishman was also very creative, as he managed to record two key passes during the game
  • Parrott also managed to win six duels throughout the clash (Sofascore)

With Joel Piroe being expected to leave Elland Road this summer, Leeds would be bringing in a forward who, like Piroe, has yet to prove himself in the Premier League, making it a potential risk for the 49ers.

However, given his form this season, Parrott would certainly be high on confidence following a potential move to Elland Road, and hopefully, this would allow him to hit the ground running in a white shirt.
