Manor Solomon was an inspired signing by Leeds United last summer. A lot was going on when the forward arrived at Elland Road before this season began.
Leeds had lost three of their best players to Premier League sides, which left them scrambling for new signings. A number of deals were completed in the last week of the transfer window. Among some of the arrivals were Ao Tanaka and Manor Solomon.
The Spurs man had been out of action for most of 2024 due to injury, and he was looking for a club to play active football again. His signing played a big part in Leeds winning the Championship this season. Solomon had 10 goals and 12 assists, as well as scoring the winner on the final day to lift the league title.

Solomon returned to his parent club at the end of the season. Leeds have been expected to complete his signing in the coming months, but there has been nothing complete so far. The player even said he was open to joining Leeds on a permanent deal because of Daniel Farke:
“Daniel was one of the decisions why I joined Leeds,” he said. “So definitely it could be one of the reasons why I will join Leeds in the summer, why or not.”
Now, the latest development could see the Whites lose a major opportunity to sign the 25-year old. The Spurs Web claim that Everton could be a serious contender to sign Solomon this summer. New CEO Angus Kinnear played a part in bringing the forward to Leeds this season, and could leverage that to sign the player for Everton.
Another blow for Leeds
The transfer window just opened and it looks like Leeds are already missing out on some of the targets being linked. The club need to find alternatives quickly, and try to finish business before pre season. There is not a lot of time between now and the start of the Premier League.
