Leeds United comfortably booked their place in the third round of the EFL Cup with a 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
Second-half goals from Dan James and James Justin were enough to see Daniel Farke’s side through to the next round.
It was Leeds’ second win over Forest in just three days. The Whites opened their Premier League campaign with a 1-0 victory at the same ground on Saturday before returning to claim another cup win.
Forest will be frustrated to lose at home to Leeds twice in such a short space of time, but the hosts did not do enough to earn a result on the night.

Oliver Glasner makes brutal Leeds United admission
The Forest boss argued on Saturday that his team were better. However, he had no excuse tonight and conceded that the two Leeds wins showed how far they are ahead of his team.
He stressed that Leeds knew what to do in each phase of play while his team committed too many mistakes, and the two results showed the Whites are just the better team at the moment.
Glasner said on Sky Sports: “Losing twice in three days to Leeds, we have to accept they are better; they are further than where we are, and we could see there was much more stability in their team.
“They know what they want to do, how they want to attack, and how they want to play.
“I think every chance for Leeds came when we lost the ball in the build-up.
“Their first goal, we kicked the ball and headed it straight into the feet of their attacker, then you’re vulnerable.
“We made too many easy mistakes, and when they made mistakes, we didn’t score from them.
“At the end of the day, they were better. Sometimes the reality hurts, and it really hurts today.”

Leeds will look to build on this
Daniel Farke’s men have made a brilliant start to the season with two wins away from home against Nottingham Forest.
However, Leeds’ squad need more additions before the window closes next week, and hopefully, the two results will inspire the 49ers to do more in the coming days.
Daniel Farke wants a back-up goalkeeper, a striker, a winger and a left-back before the end of the transfer window. He is also keen on adding one more centre-back to his squad.
