Leeds United have had their fair share of players leave on loan in recent years, particularly in the aftermath of the 2022/23 season, when many players had loan clauses in their contracts.
These clauses have often come back to bite Leeds when it comes to moving the player on permanently, as their value decreases after a disappointing loan spell.
This is seemingly the case for Jack Harrison, who is currently on loan at Fiorentina, his third separate loan exit from Leeds after spending two years at Everton previously.
Whilst Leeds have certainly not missed Harrison, the reports coming out of Italy will frustrate the 49ers, who would have been hoping to cash in on the winger this summer.
Jack Harrison currently failing to impress at Fiorentina
Harrison, 29, was controversially reintegrated into the Leeds squad by Farke last summer in a decision that upset supporters.
Ultimately, the Englishman’s performances for Leeds this season proved why it was the wrong decision to bring him back into the fold as the winger failed to impress in any of his 11 Premier League appearances.
However, according to Fiorentina Uno, patience also seems to be running thin with Harrison in Italy after a string of underwhelming displays.
The report states that whilst his start to life in Italy was positive, Harrison’s performance levels have dropped off, causing concern to the backroom staff at Fiorentina, a concern that is also shared by his parent club.
With Fiorentina suffering injuries to key players such as Moise Kean and former Leeds star Manor Solomon, Fiorentina’s upcoming clash with Parma is being described as a perfect opportunity for Harrison to prove to the Italian outfit why they should fork out the £6million it would take to secure his services permanently in the summer.
Data suggests Jack Harrison has been poor at Fiorentina
By this point, all Leeds fans just want to see Harrison leave the club permanently; however, his poor campaigns away from Elland Road mean there is not a lengthy queue to take the winger off United’s hands.
- Harrison has made five appearances in Serie A for Fiorentina, with three of those being starts
- In 343 total minutes, the winger has failed to score but has managed to register one assist
- He also failed to score or assist in the two appearances he has made for Fiorentina in the Conference League (Sofascore)
Hopefully for Leeds’ sake, the Parma game can be a turning point for Harrison’s Fiorentina career, so they do not have to deal with him ever again.
