PSV boss Peter Bosz makes Leeds United admission that turns heads – ‘best match I have seen in 10 years’

Leeds United travel to the Hill Dickinson Arena for Monday night’s Premier League meeting with Everton in high spirits after grinding out a 1-0 victory over Fulham.

Daniel Farke’s men sealed all three points with a late strike at Elland Road, a win that kept their eight-point buffer over the relegation zone intact despite West Ham’s shock success against Tottenham.

The Whites have lost only once in their last nine matches, and even that setback was cruel, with Newcastle scoring late in a seven-goal thriller at St James’ Park despite Leeds meriting something from the contest.

Leeds were left disappointed by the result against Newcastle because their performance was good enough for a win. It was a thrilling game, and even PSV Eindhoven boss Peter Bosz agrees.

‘Newcastle v Leeds United was the best game in a decade’ – Peter Bosz

Leeds seemed to be on their way to a famous victory away from home until Newcastle were awarded a penalty towards the end of regulation time at St. James’ Park.

Bruno Guimaraes converted from the spot, and an error from Lucas Perri, which cost him his place in the team, led to the winner in the 12th minute of added time.

Leeds were left disappointed and Newcastle jubilant, but it has been the game of the season in the Premier League thus far. It is even earning accolades in Europe.

Ahead of facing Newcastle in the Champions League tonight, PSV Eindhoven boss Bosz admitted that he watched the Leeds game to study his opponents.

He conceded that it was the best game he had seen in a decade, due to the attacking quality both teams brought to the fore at St. James’ Park.

Bosz said in a press conference: “Their game v Leeds was the best match I’ve seen in the last 10 years.

“This is how football should be played.”

Leeds’ attacking threat has been their surprise element

Leeds’ recruitment in the summer indicated a pattern. Daniel Farke was expected to keep things tight at the back and bank on physicality to get through games in the Premier League.

However, since the Leeds boss shifted to a 5-3-2 formation in November, Leeds have looked far more threatening in attack against some of the best teams in England.

They scored two against Manchester City, three against Liverpool and three against Newcastle to show the attacking quality in their team.

It’s that attacking quality that probably led to the game of the season against Newcastle, which even Peter Bosz is accepting was of real quality.
