West Ham recorded a huge victory on Friday night, which will put the pressure on Leeds United in these final games of the season. As a result of the Hammers’ win, Spurs are now in the relegation zone.
Daniel Farke’s men are just three points above the bottom three, and will be the last team to play among the sides battling for safety. The Hammers beat Wolves 4-0 on Friday night and are in great form. Nuno Espirito Santo’s team have lost just two league games since the start of February.
This weekend sees each of the teams battling to avoid 18th place face difficult challenges; Spurs face Sunderland, Nottingham Forest play Aston Villa and Leeds face Manchester United. These teams are separated by just three points, which will make the run from now to the end of the season very interesting.
Sky Sports pundit makes controversial Leeds United claim
Pundits have already started making claims about how the relegation battle will go; Gabriel Agbonlahor thinks Leeds do not have what it takes to get to safety. And this week, Jay Bothroyd said on Sky Sports FC that he thinks Leeds United will be relegated after West Ham were able to pull off a huge win on Friday.
There are still eight games to be played for most teams around the bottom of the table. The Whites look to have one of the more difficult run-ins with five games away from home, with them having to face Spurs and West Ham.

Leeds are being severely underestimated
When it comes to the Whites, most pundits and analysts just assume that they will go down looking at their fixtures. But this team has shown fight continuously throughout the season. They mounted an unbeaten run towards the end of the year, and managed to put themselves in a great position to escape relegation.
Now they are locked in battle with three other teams for that final spot in the bottom three. One advantage the whites have on their side is stability. Spurs have a new manager and will have to adapt quickly for their upcoming games, Nottingham Forest are also still in Europe, and if they continue to progress deeper into the competition, they are at a disadvantage. Leeds also have the edge over West Ham, after beating them twice already this season. So even if the Whites look like favourites to go down, the season is far from over.
