Swansea City fans had a few words for former striker Joel Piroe after the Dutchman scored and celebrate by kissing the Leeds United badge.
Piroe’s goal came just four minutes into the match as he equalized after Jamie Paterson put Swansea ahead after just one minute. Goals from Georginio Rutter and Dan James sealed all three points for Leeds United on Wednesday night.
During the game, Swansea fans were furious that Piroe celebrated against them by kissing the Leeds United badge. The striker arrived at Elland Road this summer for around £10million after scoring 19 goals for the Swans in the Championship last season.
His goal celebration angered a few Swansea fans on social media:
46 goals from Piroe in a Swans shirt and the lasting memory is going to be him kissing the badge against us. A real shame because I’ll always adore his contribution while he was here.
As for the booing of Dan James, what the hell was that about?

Easily our best 45 minutes this season but undone by two woeful defensive lapses. The joys of being a 🦢 fan.
By the way, Piroe celebrating twice. Still be in Dutch youth farmers league if not for us? Fuck him.

So disappointed in Joel Piroe as well, kissing the badge is just a kick in the bollocks 💔

Dan James & Joel Piroe both scoring against Swansea, that's got to hurt 🦢☠️#Lufc

You get someone’s career up and running and he drops a full celebration and kisses the badge against you?
Really disappointing from Joël Piroe.

Every good thought/memory of those two has been erased IMO, especially Joel Piroe 🐀🐀 pic.twitter.com/1LWi2JWshT

Dan james went to celebrate. Piroe kisses peeds badge. Players these days have no respect at all do they.

Celebrating is fine but it's the whole kissing the badge that was bizarre and unnecessary against your old team.

After the game, the striker said he was very happy in West Yorkshire and has settled well at Leeds United, where he sees a long term future for himself and the club:
“We are a little bit unhappy that we didn’t get the clean sheet, but we put our chances away, that’s a good thing and we just want to keep going now. I’m very happy here, I’ve settled in well.”
“The guys are starting to really understand each other and we know what we want from each other and I think that’s working better every day. I still think we can create more and be more deadly, but we are creating enough chances and I think we are on the right track.”
The 24-year old has scored seven goals for Leeds United this season. Piroe is currently joint top scorer this season alongside Crysencio Summerville.
Suck it up Swans and stop being so soft
I doubt if James, Piroe or Rodon give a flying fig if it upset you lot. They have moved up the ladder now and won’t be looking back
