Leeds United left the Vitality Stadium empty-handed on Saturday after succumbing to their second league defeat of the season against Bournemouth.

The home side were gifted a goal in the first half when Leeds goalkeeper James Trafford’s underhit pass found James Kluivert, who squared it to Evanilson, who tapped it in.

Leeds never really looked like they were scoring against the Cherries, and despite controlling 56 per cent possession, they only managed one shot on target in the second half.

Bournemouth added a second in injury time to seal all three points, but Trafford’s first-half mistake became the talking point. However, the Leeds goalkeeper found support in his teammates.

Tarik Muharevic’s gesture wins Leeds hearts

The Bosnian has emerged as one of Leeds’ defensive stars since joining the club and has looked made for the Premier League.

However, the centre-back won Leeds hearts at Bournemouth by what he did after Leeds conceded the first goal en route to a defeat.

The defender immediately ran over to Trafford, who looked distraught after the game, and consoled him after the goalkeeper’s error handed the home side a goal.

Trafford has been a strong signing for Leeds this season, and the defender understood it was important that the goalkeeper didn’t feel completely isolated after the game.

It shows maturity beyond his years and suggests Muharemovic will gradually emerge as a leader in the Leeds dressing room.

The gesture also showed fans the spirit in the Leeds dressing room, and Muharemovic was more than ready to ensure Trafford’s confidence wasn’t affected.

Daniel Farke should be worried about the attack

Leeds United’s lack of attacking threat is becoming a genuine concern for Daniel Farke after another frustrating afternoon against Bournemouth.

Managing just one shot on target in a 2-0 defeat tells its own story, with the Whites offering very little once they fell behind. Questions remain about the form of several attacking players, particularly Harry Wilson, who has yet to register a Premier League goal or assist since arriving in the summer.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin cannot be expected to carry the entire burden, and Leeds need more creativity, movement and end product from those around him.

Farke must find a way to get his forward players firing. Otherwise, Leeds risk making life unnecessarily difficult for themselves this season.
