Tyler Adams set for long injury spell

Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams was forced to undergo surgery on a hamstring injury during the international break.

The 24-year old has been sent for an operation on the problem he suffered just before the international break. The club has not confirmed how much time Adams will spend recovering and will make further assessments next week.

Nonetheless, Leeds fans should brace themselves for extended absence. An injury to a key player like Adams comes at the worst possible time for head coach Javi Gracia. Adams damaged a muscle during training before Leeds’ 4-2 win over Wolves.

He was forced to withdraw from the USMNT squad, and underwent the surgery in England.

Leeds sit in 14th place in the Premier League, 2 points above safety and have 11 matches remaining. The Whites are away to Arsenal on Saturday, with the team  sweating over injuries to Willy Gnonto and Max Wober.
