Leeds United continue to impress ahead of their new season. Daniel Farke’s men have been great since returning from their training camp in the US.

The club only lost on of their friendlies during their trip to North America.

Leeds lost to Wrexham in their first game, and beat Sunderland and Liverpool in the following matches.

They made a triumphant return to Elland Road this past weekend, beating RB Leipzig by two goals. With each game, the team gets better on the pitch as Farke moulds them ahead of the new season.

The club lost on penalties to Manchester United in Ireland on Wednesday night.

Leeds United star tipped to make Elland Road exit

In the last few weeks, fans have paid attention to how this Leeds United side will lineup at the start of the season.

Daniel Farke’s men are away to Nottingham Forest in their Premier League opener. Forest boss Oliver Glasner has already mentioned that his team may not be up to speed in time for their first league game.

The last two friendlies against Leipzig and Manchester United have shown a lot about Farke’s plans.

The Leeds boss left Joel Piroe on the bench in both games, and now speculation has grown about the striker’s future. Piroe mentioned that he would like to establish himself in the Premier League a few weeks ago.

Simon Rix has speculated on the future of the striker on the Don’t Go To Bed Yet podcast.

“I don’t really understand the logic. I guess there’s some wages and stuff like that, but he’s definitely third in the pecking order.

“I guess, with Wilson coming in as well, he’s down the pecking order for kind of number 10-ish as well. So I don’t know. It just seems like the end of the line.

“It’s just like, just go in a nice way and go do something else. And Leeds fans will always rate you and have, you know, be happy for your contribution. Whereas now, It’s souring it a little bit.”

Joel Piroe’s exit might be inevitable

The signs are already on the door with the final weeks left in the transfer window.

Piroe is clearly down the pecking order, which was evident last season when he was limited to cup games.

Daniel Farke is yet to change his mind on the striker, and plays other options ahead of him. Everything looks set for Joel Piroe to leave; his contract expires next year and Leeds want a new striker this summer.

It is highly unlikely that the club keep the 27-year old around ahead of the new season.
