Leeds United have a lot of work to do in the transfer market going forward. With just over a week left to the Premier League opener, the club have made just three signings.

James Trafford, Harry Wilson and Tarik Muharemovic have all been solid additions to the first team.

Wilson boosts the quality in attack, and Muharemovic is also a suitable replacement for Pascal Struijk in the backline. Trafford is the marquee signing of this window, and is expected to be the long term solution between the sticks.

Reports claim that the 49ers are targeting multiple names as the window draws to a close.

A backup goalkeeper, a fullback, a midfielder, an attacking midfielder and a striker are among the possible targets.

Leeds United star stalls transfer move

But in the present, the club have to navigate a few exits in the coming days.

Thursday saw The Athletic confirm the news of a deal for Joe Gelhardt. Hull City are closing in on signing the Leeds United forward after their interest increased in the last few weeks.

Another major move on the cards is Lucas Perri to Torino.

He looks set to join the Italian side, but nothing has been confirmed yet. News on Wednesday revealed the plan to loan him with a buy option, but nothing has been confirmed as agreed by both parties.

Marseille joined the race, making an offer to the Brazilian and his camp.

La Stampa (via journalist Guillaume Pacini), have revealed that Perri is taking his time after receiving an offer from Marseille.

He was supposed to undergo a medical on Thursday morning, but is considering the French side’s offer. It is believed the situation will be resolved in the coming days.

Stalling will only affect Leeds’ plans

Lucas Perri and Torino had been waiting for weeks for James Trafford to arrive.

His deal gave the greenlight for both sides to wrap up negotiations for the loan move for the Brazilian goalkeeper.

And now that everything is all but sealed, another major development has occurred. Marseille now have their offer on the table, and Perri will have to decide on his next destination.

The more the Leeds keeper delays, the more the 49ers’ plans are pushed back.

The Whites are in search of a backup goalkeeper for Trafford, and this latest situation has only drawn out the process.

Leeds might want to use Perri as part of the deal to sign Piaxico. Makes sense.
