Leeds United are entering the last stretch of the season with a real chance at survival in the Premier League. For a club heavily tipped to go down this year, they have defied expectations.
Near the end of last year, the Whites were on a bad run of results and Daniel Farke was reportedly on the verge of being sacked. But since then Leeds have turned things around, getting huge results on the pitch during that run. Farke’s side have recorded some important points on the board these last few weeks, beating Nottingham Forest and getting draws against Chelsea and Aston Villa.
Survival will be key this summer, but what happens at the end of the season could change a lot of things for the club.
Liverpool eye Leeds United star among transfers this summer
With the football Leeds United have been playing this campaign, some players will definitely have caught the eye of other clubs. Recently, there were reports that some clubs have interest in Ethan Ampadu as his contract runs out in 2027. According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, the midfielder is not the only one who has suitors; Liverpool have plans for Jaka Bijol as part of their summer transfers.
The report claims that the Reds are in the market for a replacement for Ibrahima Konate, who could leave Anfield this summer. The French international’s contract runs out in the next few months, and he is yet to agree a new deal. Jaka Bijol is on the shortlist of options being considered by the Reds, with the club very high on his physical attributes. Liverpool could pursue the 27-year as part of their transfers this summer.

Jaka Bijol has had huge impact this season
The Slovenian arrived at Elland Road with a reputation of being a top player in Serie A. Early in the season, he found it difficult to break into the first team, but now he is an important part of the starting lineup. As part of the back three he has more freedom to be aggressive and step up from the backline to stop danger. Bijol’s passing has also been impressive this season, picking out attackers from deep. It would be a huge stretch for the Whites to let him go just one season into his five year contract, but when a club like Liverpool comes around, they can influence transfers.
