Leeds boss Sam Allardyce believes midfielder Adam Forshaw will be important for upcoming games.
One of the few surprises from Big Sam’s first Leeds lineup was Forshaw making his third start of the season. The 30-year old’s last start was in December but he was called upon in the 2-1 defeat to Man City.
According to Allardyce, his inclusion in the team was a tactical decision:
“[Forshaw will be] Tremendously important because it’s been pointed out to me by coaches, by a lot of the staff at the football club that the midfield has been slightly weak in terms of particularly its out-of-possession work,”
He also added that the midfielder brings experience from previous situations to help the team.
“I think he’s got a lot of experience and know-how and of course, I played differently from previous managers by playing three in there to support that, which I think helps him.”
The Whites’ latest results sees the team in 17th place with 3 games to go.
