Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi is keen on signing on-loan Leeds United star Weston McKennie this summer.
According to Calciomercato, Brighton are interested in the American as a replacement for Moises Caicedo. The 24-year-old joined Leeds on loan from Juventus in January.
Initial figures when McKennie arrived at Elland Road suggested a transfer could be made permanent for around ÂŁ34 million, which would include ÂŁ30 million up front and ÂŁ4 million in add-ons. But a move may not be on the cards if Leeds are relegated. Relegation to the Championship would ruin any chances of the 23-year old joining on a long-term contract with Leeds.
McKennie has been consistent for The Whites this season, having started 14 out of 17 games this season. The report from Italy claims a figure close to 25 million euros will be enough to bring the midfielder back to England on a permanent deal.
