Leeds United have had a whole week to prepare for this weekend’s clash with Sunderland. Daniel Farke’s side are seeking their first win after the Newcastle game.

Last week the draw with Manchester United came as a bit of a disappointment to home fans. The Whites were rightfully tipped as the favourites but failed to capitalize on the tag.

Going into this weekend, many will give Leeds the edge over Sunderland too.

Regis Le Bris’ side cannot seem to pick up a win in the Premier League in contrast to their form in Europe.

This weekend’s clash will be at the Stadium of Light, where the home side will need to deliver under pressure.

Ahead of Sunday’s game, Daniel Farke has given some major updates on Leeds United players.

He has confirmed that Joe Rodon is not available yet as he recovers from his injury. Farke adds that Calvert-Lewin, Okafor and Stach are also doubts for the game.

But with two days to go, they could make it in time.

”Have to wait to see who is available. Joe Rodon is still out. Offensive players from the last game are all doubtful.

”Calvert-Lewin got a tackle late on and is struggling with a bruised foot. Anton Stach, question mark behind availability, foot problem, painful at the moment. Noah Okafor struggling with adductor problems.

”If the game was today none would be available, all have missed sessions this week. Good news is we still have two days, try to make them available.”

Losing attacking options is not great for Daniel Farke

Leeds this summer stocked up on a lot of defensive reinforcements and that has paid off in a big way. Even when Joe Rodon was out for two months, the team was able to function.

But this weekend, the Whites could be without Stach, Okafor and Calvert-Lewin.

Leeds went into this season with just two centre forward options and with Calvert-Lewin a doubt it raises concerns. The club have scored just nine goals so far, which is disappointing considering the amount of chances they get every game.

Noah Okafor, Harry Wilson and Jean-Matteo Bahoya are the other attacking options.

Farke could have to field a new look attack against Sunderland this weekend. And with how the team has stuck with a consistent lineup, this could change a lot of dynamics.
