Leeds United are gearing up for Saturday’s Premier League opener against Nottingham Forest, but plenty of work is still happening behind the scenes as the club looks to reshape the squad before the transfer window closes.
The Whites remain keen to strengthen in several positions while also trying to move several players on.
Leeds have already agreed a deal to sign Nico Elvedi from Borussia Monchengladbach, with the Swiss defender expected to complete his move in the coming hours.
The club are also working hard to find new destinations for several players who are no longer part of the plans. Some departures are expected as Leeds look to trim the squad, bring in funds and free up space for more additions.

Bid tabled for Leeds United goalkeeper target
Leeds paid a club-record fee to sign James Trafford, and the 23-year-old goalkeeper’s performances in pre-season suggest that the club made the right choice in the market.
However, the Whites are still keen to sign another goalkeeper to provide competition and cover for Trafford, with Alex Cairns currently viewed as little more than a third-choice option.
Sweden goalkeeper Jacob Widell Zetterstrom is one of the goalkeepers Leeds have been linked with this summer and is still expected to move.
Derby County are aware that they may not be able to hold on to him amid interest from Leeds and clubs across Europe.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Italian club Monza have tabled a bid to sign the Swede in the ongoing summer transfer window.
Monza’s offer is just over the £2m mark, but the proposal includes a huge 50 per cent sell-on clause.
It is unclear whether it’s enough for Derby to sanction the goalkeeper’s sale before the end of the transfer window.
Leeds should make a move for Zetterstrom
This is the kind of deal Leeds should get involved in, as it would be a low-cost and risk-free operation before the end of the transfer window.
Trafford will be the number one, but Leeds will need a solid number 2 who would be ready to step up if and when required.
Zetterstrom has proved himself in the Championship and has the experience of playing in England, which is a huge bonus.
Monza’s offer also suggests that he is unlikely to cost much and would be a smart pick-up for Leeds if Zetterstrom is prepared to be the understudy to Trafford.
Leeds could also make a late move for experienced goalkeeper Nick Pope, with Newcastle keen to offload him before the end of the window.
