Multiple scouts were in attendance during Leeds United under-21s fixture against Crewe Alexandra in the Papa John’s Trophy in November.
According to the YEP, up to 36 scouts were present at the game to watch Leed’s young players take on Crewe. Joe Gelhardt, Mateusz Klich, Sam Greenwood and Alfie McCalmont all featured in that match and are attracting significant loan interest ahead of the January window.
Marsch may decide to keep Mateusz Klich and Joe Gelhardt, to offer back up to the first-team squad. Klich has looked the most likely to depart the club, after his agent revealed interest from clubs.
Sam Greenwood and Alfie McCalmont on the other hand, are not first choice in either of their positions and would benefit from loan deals to get game time – following in the steps of Lewis Bate
Victor Orta will have the final say on if any of these players will leave and will speak with all of the players receiving interest about their current and future plans. The transfer window opens on January 1 and with the club interested in bringing in a few new faces, one or all of them could depart on loan.
