Leeds United produced a marvellous performance under the lights at Elland Road on Monday to dismantle a good Newcastle United side 4-1.
Daniel Farke’s men put on a show for the home fans, racing to a 3-0 lead at half-time before scoring another in the second half to complete the rout.
Newcastle’s late goal left Daniel Farke disappointed, and he conceded it was a blemish on an otherwise perfect performance that deserved a clean sheet.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin was almost unplayable on Monday night, bullying the Newcastle defenders and deserving more than one goal.

Gabby Agbonlahor dismisses Daniel Farke claim after Newcastle win

Daniel Farke endorsed Dominic Calvert-Lewin to return to the England squad when Thomas Tuchel picks his side for the next set of international games.
He stressed that a few other Leeds players also deserve to be in the England squad because of their consistency.
The Leeds boss said when asked if Calvert-Lewin deserves an England call-up: “Definitely realistic, but there are a few other names on my mind with an English passport after a performance like this.”
However, former Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor has insisted that he doesn’t think that the Leeds forward will get his England chance this week.
He believes Calvert-Lewin is not at the level where Thomas Tuchel feels he can make a difference in a Three Lions shirt.
Agbonlahor said on talkSPORT: “Calvert-Lewin got 14 Premier League goals last season.
“This season, two so far, and it should have been three.
“But I still don’t think he gets a call-up later in the week. I don’t think he is at the level that Thomas Tuchel thinks England needs.”

Agbonlahor is talking nonsense

Calvert-Lewin made an appearance for England ahead of the World Cup earlier this year, but he didn’t make the cut.
Thomas Tuchel dismissed the idea of carrying an in-form Premier League striker to the World Cup over taking Ivan Toney, who has been playing in Saudi Arabia.
The Leeds striker may not make the cut again this week, but that is not because of Agbonlahor’s nonsense excuse that he is not good enough to play for England.
Tuchel likes certain players, and his bias reflects in his selection. It would not be a major surprise if Ollie Watkins makes the cut again despite moving to Saudi Arabia this summer, or if the England boss opts for a younger striker like Liam Delap despite his recent record.
Performance isn’t a major criterion in England selection these days.
Nobody should take any notice of what Gobby Agbonlahor has to say, especially when it comes to LUFC … he’s a complete waste of space.
Most of what Agbonlahor says in relation to Leeds is derogatory as he does not like Leeds United and despises seeing them do well.
Also, why do journos insist on using the word ‘unplayable’? “Unplayable” for a footballer is poor usage of the word if what you mean is “unstoppable, or unbeatable.” It is bad English.
Taken literally, unplayable means “cannot be played” — which in football would indeed suggest that the player can’t take part.
The construction is the same as:
It seems to be an invented use for the word, and I do not understand why. However, I suspect the journalists will continue to use it regardless, because once a phrase catches on in football, every journo has to use it 47 times before the weekend is over.
