Leeds United will get their Premier League campaign underway on Saturday when they travel to the City Ground to take on Nottingham Forest.

The Whites silenced plenty of doubters last season by securing their top-flight status with games to spare before finishing 14th in the table.

Staying up and establishing themselves as a Premier League side remains the priority this season, but Leeds will also be looking to build on last year’s progress and take another step forward.

The club’s summer recruitment has shown plenty of ambition, and the trip to the City Ground will offer an early test of just how much Daniel Farke’s side have developed over the summer.

Roy Keane and Gary Neville disagree on Leeds United

Gary Neville and the rest of The Overlap team have made their first Premier League predictions ahead of the opening weekend of the new season.

Leeds United’s trip to the City Ground to take on Nottingham Forest was one of the names the crew discussed, and Roy Keane predicted his former side to win at home on Saturday.

Neville also thought that Forest would win but conceded that he is unsure about the Midlands side ahead of their first game against Leeds this weekend.

He eventually felt that the two sides would share the points in a 1-1 draw at the City Ground.

“We’ll go 1-0 Forest”, Keane said on The Overlap.

Neville added: “I think Forest will win.

“Okay, we will go 1-1. I don’t have conviction about Forest.”

Leeds are unlikely to lose on Saturday

Daniel Farke’s side have looked in pristine touch during pre-season, and while those games were nothing more than a warm-up for the league, the team’s rhythm was real.

Leeds have looked comfortable against a few top sides during pre-season, and are set to start their summer signings against Forest on Saturday.

On the other hand, Oliver Glasner has indicated that his team may not be completely ready yet to take on a team of Leeds’ quality in the opening weekend.

Farke has turned Leeds into a tough side to beat, and it would not be a major surprise if they leave the City Ground with something in their bag on Saturday.
