Leeds United signed 10 new players last summer as they prepared for their return to the Premier League. And overall, the consensus is that most of the signings have helped the team.
The Whites have mathematically secured safety in the top flight, and will be in the league for another season. And most of that will be down to how their players have fared this season. Anton Stach has been a revelation in the middle of the park, and Jaka Bijol has been solid at the back. Leeds now have a capable left back in Gabriel Gudmundsson and Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor have been great additions to the attack.

But a lot of them have been very solid performers; Karl Darlow took over the number one spot and has been undroppable. Pascal Struijk has emerged as one of the more impressive defenders in the league this season, and could attract suitors this summer.
Ethan Ampadu has quietly been one of the best midfielders in the league this season, and he showed that once again in the game against Spurs on Monday night. Jamie Carragher watched the game and he was really impressed with how the Leeds United captain played.
“Ethan Ampadu, every time I watch him play I’m impressed by that lad. He’s been one of my favourite players, certainly midfield players, to watch in the Premier League this season. Every time I watch him, he doesn’t have a bad game.”

49ers need to make the right decision this summer
This summer will see Ethan Ampadu enter the last 18 months of his contract at Elland Road. The midfielder has been one of the best performers this season, and it has not gone under the radar. Seeing as Ampadu has become a huge part of Leeds United these past few years, he should be in line for a new deal. He is an important piece for the club on and off the field and deserves to be rewarded. The 49ers have to make his contract a priority and get it done before this summer. Ethan Ampadu is a very big part of the club and he needs to be treated like it.
