Leeds United captain Liam Cooper says its been a difficult season and admits his injuries mean he will not play a lot of games.
Cooper has been ever present for The Whites since joining from Chesterfield in 2014. His last two campaign have seen him play 21 and 13 games respectively, a stark contrast to 2018/19 when he played 36 out of 38 games.
The defender now admits that his time as a regular starter is nearing an end, but says it has been difficult not playing for the club:
“Personally it’s been frustrating to miss the last few matches with injury and I didn’t expect to be out for as long as I have been.
“Naturally, all I want to do is get back out on the pitch as soon as possible and help the team as much as I can. Hopefully I can do that sooner rather than later.”
This summer, the 30-year old will have just a year remaining on his contract at Elland Road.
