Leeds United in pursuit of Birmingham City youngster

According to TEAMtalk, Leeds United are close to signing Birmingham City wonderkid George Hall.

The 18-year old is said to be a long term target of the club, with Leeds having had a bid turned down during the summer. Hall has already played 18 games for the Sky Blues this season, with a host of Premier League clubs also interested in the midfielder.

Birmingham rebuffed any approaches in the summer, but with recent financial issues at the club, they may be forced to sell one of their prized assets. Reports claim that the club are beginning to feel pressured into listening to offers, which was inevitable given how impressive Hall has been this season playing for the first team.

The Blues sit 14th in the Championship with seven wins so far. Hall has increasingly become a key player in the team as the season has progressed.

According to TEAMtalk, Leeds see Hall developing into a first-team player for Jesse Marsch in the near future. The club’s transfer policy for young players has seen them snap up Lewis Bate, Pascal Struijk and Sam Greenwood. George Hall could be the latest addition.
