Leeds owner set to takeover Italian side – Reports

Andrea Radrizzani is considering a bid for Sampdoria as he prepares to depart Leeds United this summer.

According to Italian news outlet II Secolo via MOT Leeds, Radrizzani has been observing proceedings at the Serie A side with 13 days before their next shareholders meeting. Sampdoria are reportedly valued at £35million.

Due to their poor season and current relegation battle this year, Victor Orta departed the club by mutual consent. The decision was taken by the board as the club fought to save their Premier League status. Sam Allardyce was also brought in as head coach.

The San Francisco 49ers are expected to purchase the team if they survive, although relegation would seriously complicate takeover negotiations.

Radrizzani is set give up his controlling stake at Elland Road, with the 49ers set to pay £150million if the club are relegated or £420million if they remain in the Premier League.
